Privacy Policy

Flash Dictionary ("the App") is provided by Ilgenci Creations ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. By using the App you consent to the practices described below.

1. Account information

When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive a unique account identifier and, where you allow it, your name and email address. This data is used solely to identify your account so your saved words and language preferences travel with you across devices. We do not use your email for marketing.

2. Content you create

We store the data you produce inside the App:

• Words you save, including any notes you attach to them
• Your selected native language and the languages you are learning

This content is stored against your account so it can be retrieved when you sign in. We do not share or sell it.

3. Voice input

The App offers voice dictation for entering words. Speech recognition is performed on your device by the operating system (Apple or Google). Audio recordings are not transmitted to our servers and are not stored by us.

4. Third-party services we rely on

To run the App we send certain data to the following processors:

• OpenAI — when you look up or save a word, the word text and your language pair are sent to OpenAI to generate the meaning, examples and pronunciation audio. When you extract words from a photo, the image bytes are uploaded once to OpenAI's Vision API so it can read the text on the page. OpenAI processes this content on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. We do not store the image on our servers; only the extracted word list is returned to your device.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our backend (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront) in the US East (N. Virginia) region.
• Datadog — receives diagnostic logs and crash reports that may include your account identifier so we can investigate problems.
• Apple and Google — provide the sign-in flow you choose when you create an account.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. On deletion, your profile and saved words are removed from our database. Diagnostic logs older than 30 days are deleted automatically.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data by contacting us at the email below. If you are in the EU, UK or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR and CCPA, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. Children

Flash Dictionary is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
